Federated Identity Provider (SSO) - Migration plan

Tom Mullen Updated by Tom Mullen

This migration plan is intended to facilitate a seamless transition to the OneAdvanced Identity service. To achieve a successful migration, we require collaboration between your team and ours.

  1. Nominate an Administrator(s): You will need to nominate an Administrator(s). We recommend that your Administrator(s) is someone from your IT team who is familiar with and has access to the administrative controls of your federated identity provider. Please send the following details to cr.clarissa@oneadvanced.com.
    1. First name
    2. Last name
    3. Email address

Once we receive the details of your nominated Administrator(s), we will initiate the setup of your Self-Service Portal. The Administrator(s) will then be granted access to the portal, enabling them to oversee and manage your organisation's Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration.

Note: User management will continue to be handled through the Performance & Talent user screens, but user deletion requires two steps: removal in Performance & Talent and a subsequent deletion in the Self-Service Portal.

  1. Create a new Enterprise Application: To begin the integration process, you will need to create a new application within your federated identity provider (such as Azure AD). This will enable you to establish a connection between your identity management system and our service. For more details, view the Federating OneAdvanced Identity to Azure Active Directory guide.
Warning: Create a new application rather than updating your existing one. Updating the old application will break your current integration, causing disruptions before we're ready to switch.
  1. Schedule the Migration: After configuring and testing the new application, contact cr.clarissa@oneadvanced.com to schedule the final migration.
  2. Migration Execution: The migration will require a planned downtime of around 60 to 120 minutes. During this time, we'll migrate all your users to OneAdvaned Identity.
  3. Recommended Preparation (Optional): To help streamline the migration process, we recommend that any users in Performance & Talent who have left the business and are outside their data retention period are removed from the application beforehand.
