Non-federated Identity Provider - Migration plan

Tom Mullen Updated by Tom Mullen

This migration plan is intended to facilitate a seamless transition to the OneAdvanced Identity service. To achieve a successful migration, we require collaboration between your team and ours.

  1. Nominate an Administrator(s): You will need to nominate an Administrator(s). We recommend that your Administrator(s) is someone from your IT team with the necessary permissions and knowledge to mange user authentication. Please send the following details to cr.clarissa@oneadvanced.com.
    1. First name
    2. Last name
    3. Email address

Once we receive the details of your nominated Administrator(s), we will initiate the setup of your Self-Service Portal. The Administrator(s) will then gain access to the portal, allowing them to manage user authentication for your OneAdvanced products.

  1. Recommended Preparation (Optional): To improve the performance of the user migration and ensure data quality, we advise verifying that your user data in Performance & Talent is up to date. This includes checking that email addresses and names are accurate, and removing users who are eligible for deletion (i.e., outside their data retention period).
Note: User management will continue to be handled through the Performance & Talent user screens, but user deletion requires two steps: removal in Performance & Talent and a subsequent deletion in the Self-Service Portal.
  2. Migration Execution: Non-federated customers will be migrated to OneAdvanced Identity in pre-defined waves. You'll be allocated a specific date and time for your migration, and a member of our team will be in touch to confirm the details. The migration will require a planned downtime of approximately 60-120 minutes. During this time, we'll migrate all your users to OneAdvanced Identity.
  3. Welcome Emails: After migration, users will receive a welcome email from identity@oneadvanced.com, prompting them to create a new password and set up their preferred Multi-Factor Authentication method. More information about the welcome email process can be accessed in this guide.
Warning: To ensure a smooth migration, please whitelist identity@oneadvanced.com and notify your users to trust emails from this address.

The password creation link in the welcome email is valid for 48 hours. If not used within this time, users will need to request a password reset to complete the process.
