UI UX Multiple Managers Configuration

Performance & Talent allows employees to have multiple managers or supervisors. This feature supports various management structures, including matrix management and dotted-line management.

Key Points

  • Multiple managers have equal access rights to an employee's records and can perform the same tasks.
  • There is no primary or secondary manager designation.

Assigning Multiple Managers

Via CSV Import

To assign multiple managers using a CSV import, add additional columns for each manager (e.g., approver2approver3) to the right of the approver column.

Through 'Find and Manage People'

  1. Go to Admin > Find & Manage People.
  2. Search for the employee from the list
  3. Select 'Edit manager(s)' to add the Approver for your selected Employee
  4. Add or remove Approvers as needed and click Save.

Preventing CSV Import Overwrite

To prevent a CSV import from overwriting manually added managers, 'lock' the approver by ticking the 'Lock' box next to their name.

Objective Approval

When an employee sends an Objective for approval, they can choose which manager to send it to. All managers will see the 'Approve' notification badge on their 'My Team' dashboard.

Check-ins

Employees can have Check-ins with any of their managers. Managers can add Check-ins for employees via their Team screen.

Talent Snapshots

Multiple managers can answer Talent Snapshot questions for an employee. However, since there's only one Talent Snapshot record per round, managers should communicate to avoid overwriting each other's responses.

Reporting

System reports will display the names and emails of all managers associated with an employee.
