Making the most of Check Ins

Customer Success Updated by Customer Success

What are Check ins?

  • Check ins are regular one-to-one meetings between individuals and their managers to discuss progress, priorities, issues or concerns, and to give feedback.
  • Check in meetings should take place regularly throughout the year and you will be advised how frequently you should be holding them.

Advice for holding Check ins

  • Check ins are most effective when the individual initiates them and takes ownership for them, although either the employee or manager can create a check in.
  • Before a check in the individual should update the "status" of each of their objectives and add any relevant updates.
  • The individual and the manager should both generate the "Summary" button that can be found on the check in screen. This launches a customisable pdf / printable summary of performance and personal development objective progress, conversations comments and actions and feedback received for a selected period.

Check ins are a good opportunity to give and request Feedback. Watch this short video for some helpful advice on how best to do this.
